My name is Taaj Richardson and I am a painter that focuses on color in portraiture. I became an artist to live freely and do what I want. I have moved around a lot, but I call Cincinnati home. I am currently studying Fine Arts at the University of Cincinnati in the school of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning (DAAP). My art practice is an reflection of my life, featuring depictions my various influences while using experimental approaches. I draw influence from the work of Ralph Steadmen, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Carrie Mae Weems, and classic funk music. Working mainly in drawing and painting, I am constantly seeking to expand my interests and skills.
